I’m applying to go to university in a couple of weeks and I need to work extremely hard this year to get the right grades. Do you know of any quotations that would motivate me to work hard? Thanks. I was happy to learn… “If you’re doing your best, you won’t have any time to worry about failure” or “When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place. ” or “Never consider the possibility of failure; as long as you persist, you will be successful. ”

The truth is that life is hard and dangerous; that he who seeks his own happiness does not find it; that he who is weak must suffer; that he who demands love, will be disappointed; that he who is greedy, will not be fed; that he who seeks peace, will find strife; that truth is only for the brave; that joy is only for him who does not fear to be alone; that life is only for the one who is not afraid to die.

Does your company need a jumpstart? Is revenue low, morale declining, and your leadership tactics no longer making an impact? This may be the perfect time to look into leadership coaching.

A good executive coaching program should do more than just set you up with a speaker reading over a PowerPoint presentation. Team up your senior leaders with a good corporate coaching program, and you could be discussing fostering relationships, building strategy, and improving revenue and communications all while hitting the slopes, climbing a mountain or rafting some white water. It’s easy to connect in an environment where you can be creative, and think outside the box.

A good leadership system can make all the difference in your organization. It effects; communication, human performance, accountability, delivery and measurement. A one-on-one approach, and a program that is tailored to suit your organization’s specific needs, is the best choice in executive coaching.

There are a few important things to consider if you want to engage in an executive coaching program. Look for a company that will provide you with someone who is more than just a speaker. You want to be paired up with someone who will be a trusted advisor to you as your organization grows and changes. Also, a good coaching program will include industry consultants to provide expert advice in some technical areas. Talk to your consultant about the specific goals you want your leadership program to meet. Every business or organization needs direction in a different area or department. This is what makes a one-on-one coaching program so unique; you work on meeting goals where your company needs it the most.

Have you set goals for yourself only to fail to achieve them?

You need to follow sound goal setting techniques if you want to achieve your dreams. These techniques may be based on your own understanding of various issues, or on advice given by your parents, professional counselors, and seniors. But, no matter where they come from, they can make a big difference between success and failure.

The first thing you need to do is write down your goals. Remember that until a goal is committed to paper, it is not a goal; it is simply a desire. You also need to write down the benefits that you hope to achieve.

The next step is to pick a deadline and determine your current state of preparedness to achieve the goal. You should also identify which problems you are likely to face. This will make you mentally ready to conquer them.

You need to often review your course of action. This gives you a chance to change your goals based on your revised circumstances and needs. It is also good to surround yourself with people who are positive about your approach and who will cheer you on. Keep away from those who belittle you all the time. They can do more harm than good by trying to dissuade you from achieving your goals.

Your goals must arise out of your belief in your capabilities. This is very important, because no goal can be achieved that is not based on self-confidence. Motivation is another important psychological factor. In fact, motivation and goal setting are like two sides of the same coin. Your goal cannot be achieved without both of them.

Finally, all your goals should have several short-term targets and a long-term target. The short-term targets (or sub-goals) should have deadlines, and should merge with each other in seamlessly. You should review your goals periodically and modify them when and if your needs and circumstances change. These techniques are the best way to set and achieve goals.

Just wondering if, in your experience, it is a useful tool for self exploration. After looking around, I learned — I’ve worked with it some over the past several years, and I have mixed feelings about it. Yes, it can be a “useful tool for self-exploration,” depending on what you’re looking for. But you may be surprised by what you discover — and odds are it won’t be an entirely pleasant surprise. Other personality-typing systems (e. G. , Myers-Briggs) are pretty much descriptive: they just tell you what you’re like, and they don’t make any judgments about it. But the Enneagram system is based on a theory that human personality is based on faults, foibles, misunderstandings, or “sins. ” That is, we’re all messed up in some way or other. And your Enneagram type tells you how you’re messed up. The positive side of that is that once you know, you can begin to do something about it. So, if you’re looking for a self-exploration tool with a strong personal-development aspect, the Enneagram might be of interest to you. A downside is that it can be difficult to figure out which of the nine types best fits you. There are questionnaires that will assign a type for you to consider, but these “tests” are pretty unreliable. So, it takes a good deal of reading and self-reflection to find out your type. I mistyped myself at first and had my type wrong for a year or two before I realized it and discovered my true type. Talking it over with other Enneagram fans helps. And there are several places you can do that online. A search for “Enneagram” will turn up some good ones.

I’m feeling kinda down right now. . About college, future plans, relationships. . Mostly because I don’t have any of the above. . I’m looking for some nice words of encouragement or something inspiring. I have really low self esteem, which is starting to affect everything. . So, thanks for the help. Do you know what I found? There are several thing I can tell by your question. You can effectively communicate. That means you are smart, and have the ability to let other know how you feel. You like to read, and are considered intelligent by others. You have questions about your future, which means you are not happy about the “place” you are in now. You expect more from yourself, and wonder if you have the drive, and ambition to get where you want to go. You have not really sat down, and made a list of goal(which you need to do). You are in charge of your own destiny, but don’t know what you want to be when you “grow up”. Take some time to find out what makes you tick. You have a busy life, and need to decide what makes YOU happy. You deserve the best, and don’t let anyone get in the way of your success. Dump some of the “friends” you have that bring you down, and hang out with people you see as being successful. Surround yourself with positive people, and remember that it is your sense of humor, wit, and honesty that people find the most appealing. Exploit that, and you will find your groove.

Being a published author almost guarantees you a free pass to fame, money and credibility in your field. Be it a novel, self-help, academic or memoir, a published work paves the way to a brighter career path and lucrative source of income more often than not. There are the downsides and risk of entering the publishing businesses of course, but the benefits should your talent get a tinge of luck are enormous. After finishing your work that you invested so much time and blood in, that next step is to look for ways to bring that to the consumers’ book shelves. Marketing is a treacherous waters as it can leave you broken both financial and emotional, but more than that is the mental torture of having to do virtually everything to get your piece into the printing press. With all the harrowing experiences you can gather just by getting a deal alone, will it be enough for you to take the risk and wait until the right time comes? Is there a better option?

Traditional book publishing is the process of looking for an established publisher to materialize your brilliant work into paper and covers. They will market and distribute according to their strategy and will most likely control everything, from the cover to layout to geographical distribution. All of these for a certain one time advanced royalty fee and succeeding meager percentage of share for every copy a buyer will take out from their boxes.

A little tricky as there are some lurking fees to be drained off your earnings with this type of publishing. Some publishing houses will require you to pay additional fees if you like the distribution to reach wider than their feasible assessment. A book agent is also almost present so you have to pay for that from a certain percentage of your royalty.

The good thing is you do not have to look and pay for a book editor to complement your work as the company will do everything for you. They are too hands on that you practically lose your control over your own work. However, a signed deal can boost your reputation as a writer and as you become more popular, you can regain control over your succeeding works and in fact, act like a VIP in the company. After all, you bring in more money than the rest of their contracts.

Self book publishing on the other hand is a self-funding process of putting your words into paper. It is expensive most of the time as there may be a need to spend thousands just to see your manuscript moving in the printing press. The distribution can be a hassle as well especially if you do not have ample contacts in the industry to support you. That should not be a problem though if you are adept in using the power of Internet to spread the words. You can post your book in Amazon and sell there as well. Forums and social networking sites are also available for your marketing strategy. At least you can do whatever you want to sell. The return of investment is also quite fast as you can order the printed copies from the press at just the predicted amount to be sold for a certain period of time. You can do it by batch.

The best thing about this process is that you can feel that you are still the master of your own creative input. You cannot be dictated by some executives to benefit their income. The hardest part in here is looking for the fund and resources to finalize self publishing. But once you have them, then you are all set to go. Looking for financiers or loans often comes with research topics so that should not cause any delay.

The difference is obvious but you still have to work more fats out to see your dreams in paper and ink. Traditional or self publishing, both can be called boon or bane. The important thing is you do not lose your aim in making a book and reaching your target readers.

We all get to the point in life where it seems like something is missing, something small that could help you get to the point in your life where you could attain true happiness, whether it be in the area of work, family, relationships, or anything else.

Motivational speakers are people who are professionally trained to address an audience with a specific purpose in mind, and that is to provide motivation for various circumstances that occur during the natural course of life. If you need a little motivation in any area of your life, perhaps you should consider attending a seminar or looking up events that feature motivational speakers in your local area.

It is okay to need a little bit of help sometimes; motivational speakers are excellent aids in self improvement as they design their speeches and arrange their words in a way that is supposed to engage the listener, and allow the listener put themselves in the speaker’s position allowing both of them to identify with each other. This way, it is easier for the listener to see the way out of their current problem, to see how to fix the problem or correct whatever it is about the situation that is not right. It is often something small and minute that hinders people in life, and self improvement is often a matter of finding what it is that needs to be fixed, no matter the size or severity of the problem.

Some of the areas in which motivational speakers can aid in self improvement are:

*Parenting

- Step Parenting

*Careers

- Transitioning Careers

- Changing Careers

- Career Advancement

*Relationships

- Marriage

*And More!

For all of life’s situations, there is at least one motivational speaker out there who is trained to deal in that; many different people choose to attend motivational speaker events, whether it is for work or pleasure. You might not think that motivational speakers and events like that are not your cup of tea, but if you try attending at least one event, chances are that your mind will change. True, motivational speakers are not for everybody. Their style is to motivate and stimulate the brain and not everybody is into that. However, if you are at all into self improvement and you are looking to make a change in your life, consider taking the advice of a motivational speaker, or at least being open to the idea. You might be surprised with the results!
